Dhaka – A new central committee of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, has been announced after 7 years with Saiful Islam Nirob and Sultan Salahuddin Tuku as its president and general secretary respectively.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved the five-member partial central executive committee at the directive of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, said a Juba Dal press release issued Monday midnight.It is learnt that the new Juba Dal committee was formed some three months ago but its announcement was delayed due to differences among the top Juba Dal leaders.
The five member committee would prepare the full committee of the organization for three-year term and submit within one month for approval, said the release.
Nirob was general secretary of the last committee while Tuku student affairs assistant secretary of the BNP.
The other office bearers are: Mortazul Karim Badru, senior vice president, Nurul Islam Nayon, joint general secretary and Mamun Hasan, organizing secretary.
The last Juba Dal committee was formed on March 1, 2010 with Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal as its president and Saiful Alam Nirob as its general secretary.
The outgoing Juba Dal president Syed MOazzem Hossain Alal resigned from his post after being selected a joint secretary general of the BNP after the party’s March 19 national council in Dhaka. The tenure of the last committee expired a long time ago.
Senior vice president Abdus Slam Azad was first made acting president of the organization and later vice president Albert P Costa was given the responsibility as acting president as Azad also left his post.
Along with the central committee, the BNP secretary general also approved partial committees of Dhaka City (North) and Dhaka City (South) unit of the organisaiton.
SM Jahangir Hossain and Safiqul Islam Milton have been made as president and general secretary of Dhaka North unit of Juba Dal while Rafiqul Alam Majnu and Golam Maula Shahin as president and general secretary of Dhaka South.
Mostafa Kamal Riyad got birth as senior vice president, Sharifuddin Ahmed as joint general secretary and Mostafa Jaglul Pasha as organizing secretary of Dhaka North while Sharif Hossain has given responsibility as senior vice president, Sayeed Hasan Mintu as joint general secretary and Jamal Uddin Khan Shahin as organizing secretary of Dhaka South.
Meanwhile, several hundreds leaders and activists of Juba Dal thronged in front of the party central office at Naya Paltan yesterday morning and greeted newly elected leaders of the organsation by offering floral bouquet. The newly elected Juba Dal leaders were present at the party office
Juba Dal former senior vice president Abdus Salam Azad greeted the new committee and hoed that they would be able to carry forward the organization activities with courage. – Staff Reporter
