New Turkish envoy meets PM

New Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Huseyin Muftuoglu on Tuesday made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and discussed matters of mutual interests.Welcoming the new envoy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured him of giving all cooperation in discharging his duties during his stay in Bangladesh.
PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting.
Issues relating to bilateral trade, investment and cultural exchange also came up for discussions, Azad said.
They also stressed the need for peaceful settlement of Rohinga issue. However, the envoy acknowledged that Bangladesh has no stake in creating the problem.
During the meeting, the envoy paid his rich tributes to Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, architect of Bangladesh’s independence.
He expressed his pleasure of having the opportunity to read the ‘Unfinished Memoirs of Bangabandhu’ and finding the fact that the date of conferring Bangabandhu title on Sheikh Mujib coincides with his birthday.
