International Bangla festival and book fair 2015 will be held from 22 to 24 May next in New York city. Rukeya Haider, the head of Bangla Service of voice of America has been selected as the convener of the book fair in the preparatory committees meeting held on 20 December 2014.
Last Years convener Dr Zia Uddin announced her name. Rukeya Haidaer expressed her gratitude on her nomination as the convener over teleconference and requested everyone’s cooperation to continue the legacy of the book fair of last two decades.Dr Zia Uddin said that the book fair has become the most descent, universal and ideal program for all Bangla speaking people in North America. Dr Zia emphasised on the financial support and voluntary contribution of all connected with book fair celebration committe to make it a success. Dr Zia requested Bangladesh Government to cooperate with organisers of the Book Fair like the Kolkata Book fair. He invited publishing houses, banks, insurances, real estate organisations of Bangladesh to join this book fair.
