Muslims in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the world the holy Eid-e-Miladun Nabi (birth day of Hazrat Muhammad (sm) with due religious fervour. Sunni Muslims observe the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (sm) on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi’ al-awwal.
On the day special prayers are offered at mosques and places of religious learning to commemorate the birth of the Prophet. Dowa Mohfils are organised also at private homes to celebrate the day.The day in a closed public holiday in Bangladesh. Some mosques and places of religious learning have been decorated and illuminated to mark the day.
