A newly-wed housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself
from a tree branch at Bangari village in Debidwar upazila early
Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sahinur Akter, 18, wife of Jasim Uddin
of the village.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Debidwar police station SM Bodiuzzaman said
Shahinur got married with Jasim Uddin of the same village on Friday.
But Jasim, husband of Shahinur, left the house on Saturday as he did
not agree to marry her.
Later, Shahinur committed suicide by hanging with a tree near the
house on Monday midnight.
Locals spotted the body of Shahinur on Tuesday morning and informed the police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College
Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A UD case was filed in this connection.
