Nirmal Sen on life support

Senior politician and journalist Nirmal Sen has been on life support at the capital’s LabAid Hospital since Monday midnight.
His nephew Kangkan Sen told bdnews24.com that his condition was critical and he was under intensive care.
“He was brought to LabAid on Sunday after he fell sick on Saturday afternoon at his home at Dighirparh villager under Kotalipara in Gopalganj.”
The 82-year-old renowned leftist politician was taken to ICU on Monday midnight as his condition deteriorated.
He is currently under the supervision of chest diseases specialist Saidul Islam and neurologist Sirajul Haque.
President of Ganatantrik Biplabi Party, Sen is one of the major leftist politicians of the country.
He settled at his village home after suffering from a brain stroke and receiving treatments at hospitals in the country and abroad in 2003.
He began his political career through the anti-British movement. Later, he joined the communist movement. He also led the Shramik-Krishak Samajbadi Dal for a long time.
Nirmal Sen had been working as a journalist with vernacular Dainik Bangla.
