No-early polls, observe birth day not on 15 Aug – Sayed Ashraf

Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam here on Tuesday urged BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to celebrate her birthday either before or after the National Mourning Day that falls on August 15.
“Have enjoyment on your (Khaleda’s) birthday before or after the National Mourning Day,” he said while speaking at a discussion meeting at the Jahangirnagar University (JU).
The university administration organised the programme marking the 40th death anniversary Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.Syed Ashraf once again ruled out the possibility of any mid-term election, saying, “There’s no possibility of any snap polls. The Prime Minister will arrange the election in due time.”
He also said the election will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as there is nothing like caretaker government in the constitution.

The ruling AL general secretary and Public Administration minister Sayed Ashraful Islam said on Monday that there is no possibility on early election. He was speaking at a meeting at Jahangirnagar University.
The meeting was held at Jahir Raihan auditorium on the campus in observance of the 40th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, about 11:00 pm,
Addressing as chief guest Sayed Ashraf said, Bangabandhu was the leader of whole nation and his politics was only for average people.
The Keynote paper was presented at the programme by former VC of JU and member of Bangladesh Public Service commission (PSC) Prof Sharif Enamul Kabir JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam in the chair.
JU Registrar Abu Bakar Siddique condiucted the programme while Pro-VC of JU Prof Abul Hossain was present as special guest. – JU Correspondent
