‘No power load-shedding this summer and Ramadan’

Prime Minister’s advisor on energy, power and mineral resources Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury has said, forthcoming Ramadan and summer season will be kept free from load-shedding.
He said for the benefit of mass people in the month of Ramadan, the electricity will remain all-time. But due to some technical problems, there will be a disruption in some places in the country.
Chowdhury came up with the remarks while speaking in a discussion at the ministry of energy, power and mineral resources yesterday (Thursday).
During the discussion, he urged the people to reduce the unnecessary use of electricity during the Ramadan and also the summer season.
He directed the officials concerned to look after the matter so that no one can misuse the electricity and said to shut off the Water Pump after 5 pm till 11 pm.
Power Division senior Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus said, “We have enough power supply against the growing demand. But in the month of Ramadan, the demand usually increases significantly after evening.
He asked the concerned officials to check all the shops, residential building’s electrical wire so that the electrical fire incident will be reduced. – Staff Reporter
