Now the country is governed at the dictate of just one person, not by the rule of law, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged on Sunday.
“The country is governed by the order of a single person, not by the rule of law. Members of Rab, police and BGB are carrying out the orders of that one person,” he said pointing finger at the Prime Minister. The BNP leader said this while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the city.
The news on forced disappearance and clandestine killings are appearing in the newspapers every day and the opposition leaders and activists are falling victims to the tragic atrocities, said the BNP leader.
“The law enforcement agencies have the death warrants of BNP leaders and activists in their hands which can be executed anywhere anytime,” he said.
Condemning the sending of BNP leader Amanullah Aman to jail, Rizvi demanded immediate release of Aman and withdrawal of all the cases filed against him.
“When our leaders and activists are securing bail in one case, they’re being shown arrested in another only to keep them confined to jail,” Rizvi alleged.
