NovoAir, a new private airline, has started its journey to three domestic routes on Wednesday with a vision of ‘Excellence in Aviation Services’ under the motto of ‘Art of Aviation’.The airlaine started the operation initially with two Embraer ERJ-145 jet aircraft with capacity of on boarding 49 passengers. It will fly to three domestic routes, between Dhaka to Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Jessore.
Civil aviation and tourism minister Lt Col (retd) M Faruk Khan inaugurated the first NovoAir Dhaka-Chittagong flight as the chief guest at domestic terminal of Hajrat Shahjalal International Airport. Commerce minister GM Quader was the special guest while chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal Mahmud Hussain, ndc, psc, secretary Khurshid Alam Chowdhury and managing director of NovoAir Mofizur Rahman also spoke marking the inauguration.
Tourism minister congratulated the NovoAir for its inception and said, present government always encourage private sector to involve in aviation sector commercially for giving a boost up to the country’s economy.
GM Quader said operation of the new domestic airline would help business community to expedite their activities across the country through using the fast connectivity.
Group Captain Mofizur Rahman said NovoAir is committed to giving opportunity to more people to explore the domestic destinations with great value airfares. He said, NovoAir is committed to on-time departure, passenger’s safety and comfort with highly skilled professionals from both home and abroad.
NovoAir has 12 Bangladeshi and 6 foreign national pilots. The aircraft is fitted with Honeywell Primus 1000 digital avionics suite with dual digital air data computers, dual attitude heading reference system (AHRS), terrain collision avoidance system (TCAS), ground proximity warning system (GPWS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) to ensure safety. It is capable of landing in extreme inclement weather without compromising the safety of passenger and flight.
The NovoAir will start operation of domestic flights to Sylhet and Syedpur soon.
