A septuagenarian man was hacked to death by unknown miscreants at Raipur village in Mohammadpur upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Alek Sardar, 70, a resident of the same village.Matiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said a gang of unknown miscreants called Alek out of the house while he was sleeping at about 1:00 am and hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Magura Sadar
Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police suspected that Alek might have been killed by his rivals over previous enmity.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Magura
