Oman to take BD physicians, nurses

Rusayl Health Center in Oman will recruit 35 physicians and 50 male and female nurses from Bangladesh soon under government arrangements. Md Abdul Hannan, managing director of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Ltd (BOESL) through which the manpower will be sent to the Middle Eastern country, confirmed UNB about the oversees recruitment. Contacted, Begum Shamsunnahar, MD of Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET), said there is a huge demand for Bangladeshi workers in Oman as some 1,50,0000 workers went to the country last year. She hoped that they would be able to send more workers to the gulf country this year compared to the previous year. Asked about the number of Bangladeshi workers in the country, the BMET MD put the figure at 5-6 lakh. – UNB
