Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged drug peddler in possession of 22 kilograms of hemp from Bhadail area in Ashulia on Wednesday night.
The arrestee was identified as Jahidul Islam, 33.Police sources said on secret information, a team of RAB-4 conducted a drive in the house of one Meherun of the village and arrested Jahidul.Sensing the presence of the elite force, Jahidul’s associates managed to flee the scene, added the sources.The RAB team also recovered 22 kilograms of hemp from the house.Later, the arrestee along with the recovered hemp was handed over to police.A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act. -UNB, Savar
