One killed, 4 missing as trawler capsizes in Brahmanbaria

At least one person is dead as an overloaded trawler has sank in the Meghna River in Brahmanbarhia, police say. Four other passengers are missing.
Ashuganj Police Station OC Abu Zafar said vessel named sideways and sank near the Ashuganj launch terminal on Sunday morning. Several people on board managed to swim to shore.Last month, a passenger launch sunk in the Padma near Manikganj killing 78 people, mostly women and children.
In 2012, over 100 people died when a ferry sank on the Meghna after colliding with a cargo vessel.
‘Liton’, a passenger of the sunken trawler, said he had seen five people asleep just before the accident. Fire service divers are looking for those missing.
The body of an unidentified young man had been recovered at around 10am from the spot of the accident. – News Desk
