One killed as nor’wester hits Bogra

Bogra – A man was killed as a nor’wester lashed several upazilas of the district on Monday. UNB news agency reported
Aslam Ali, officer-in-charge of Bogra Sadar Police Station, said Abdus Sattar, 60, of Chotot Kumira village, was killed as a billboard collapsed on him during the storm at Charmatha in Shohortoli area around 8 pm.
A number of trees were uprooted while several dwelling houses were damaged during the storm in different parts of the district.
Besides, power supply to different parts of the district remained suspended for several hours as a number of electric poles were damaged during the storm, said executive engineer of Sherpur Power Distribution Centre Firoz Kabir.
