An employee of Mobarakganj sugar mill was killed in a road crash in
Jhenidah. This incident occurred in front of Kaliganj pourashabha
under Kaliganj upazila of the district. The deceased was identified as
Shaowkat Hossain, 55 son of Sarwar Hossain of Chapali village under
Kalifganj upazila of the district. Shaowkat had been serving as a cane
development Assistant (CDA) of Mobarakganj sugar Mill of Kaliganj.
Officer in charge (OC) Liakot Ali of Kaliganj police station said, on
Thursday morning at around 9-30 am he was going to farm of the sugar
mill riding on a motor bike. When he reached in front of Kaliganj
pourashabha a Kotchandpur bound goods laden truck ran over him leaving
dad on the spot. On information police reached the spot and recovered
the body. Police seized the truck and the driver and the helper
managed to flee.
