One person was killed in RAB shootout in the early hour of Wednesday
July 31 at the Helipad area of Narail town. Two foreign made pistols,
four round bullets of it, one shooter gun and one round bullet were
recovered from the place of incident.
The deceased was identified as Rashed Parvez, 25, son of Javed Hossain
Bulu of Kurulia village under sadar upazila of the district. Parvez
was involved in politics of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of
ruling Awami Leaue.
Company Commander of RAB-6 Zahidul Karim said, on last June 28 Parvez,
along with his associates Nayeem, Sakshor and Masud kidnapped a class
nine student Hasibul, son of a Army sergeant Cantonment. Later, the
kidnappers demanded 5 lakhs taka as ransom.
Hasibul had been rescued three days after his abduction from Lohagara
of Narail district but the rescue team of RAB could not arrest the
culprits.
Acting on secret information a team of RAB-6 made a drive to catch the
culprits while they were in a secret meeting at helipad. As soon as
they understood the presence of the RAB team they began to fire. RAB
team also opened fire to save themselves.
After a few minutes we found a body there. There are two cases against
Parvez with Jessore Sadar thana and Narail Sadar thana, he added. –
