An autorickshaw driver was killed when a truck rammed his autorickshaw at Goalondo Bazaar bus stand in Goalondo upazila on Saturday morning.The deceased was identified as Mohammad Idris Sarder, 45, son of Sadek Sarder of 7 no. Kazipara union parishad of the upazila.
Witnesses said the truck rammed the autorickshaw when Sadek was coming to the bazaar around 7:45am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Infuriated by the incident, local people blocked the Khulna-Daulatdia highway for two hours.On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.Police seized the truck and arrested its driver.Goalondo Police Sation officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident. -UNB, Rajbari
