A helper of passenger bus was killed and at least nine injured when a Khulna bound bus met a collision with a truck from the behind near Kulchara village on Jhenidah-Kushtia highway under Sailkupa upazila in Jhenidah on Tuesday morning.
The dead deceased was identified as Korban Ali, 35, of Chourhas colony in Kushtia.The injured were rushed to Jhenidah sadar hospital.Sailkupa police station sub inspector (SI) Farid Hossain said, the Gorai paraibahan bus was hit by a truck trying to enter in to the Barsha filling station at road side near Kulchara village at about 10.30 AM from behind.The bus was damaged badly left ten injured. Of them Korban died there at about 11.55 AM. The fire fighters from Jhenidah rescued the spot and sent the injured to hospital. Of the injured ShamimurRahman, Uttam Ghosh, Khalilur Rahman, Afroza Begum, and Alopana Khatun were admitted in to Jhenidah sadar hospital.The body was sent to Jhenidah sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The police seized the affected bus and truck, while the truck driver managed to fee, the SI added. Jhenidah Correspondent
