One-minute ‘blackout’ Monday night to mark ‘Genocide Day’

Dhaka, Mar 24 (UNB) – For the third successive year, the nation will observe a one-minute ‘blackout’ programme on Monday night, marking the ‘Genocide Day’.

Everyone will switch their light off for one minute. However, establishments of emergency services will remain out of the purview of the programme.

In 2017, the government officially declared March 25 as the ‘Genocide Day’, marking the widespread killings by Pakistani Army on the unarmed Bangalees on the black night of March 25, 1971.
