Outlaws returning from hideouts

Fifteen men including minor students, UP chairman and outlaws have
been killed in Jhenidah in the past 75 days as the outlaws who left
their abode are returning to their respective places from hideouts.
While talking to the locals this correspondent learnt that people are
in great panic due to abduction and murder of their children. Due to
killing of the students one after another they are passing helpless
days.
Police record says, within the span of two and a half months at least
15 men have been murdered in Jhenidah.
The last murder is of Ashad Hossain, 8 of Harinakundo upazila who had
been abducted on July 12. His body was found on July 18.
On July, 17 two outlaws named Uzzal Hossain and Ashadul Islam were
strangled to death at Luxmipur-Belemath under Sadar upazila.
On July, 14 rival outlaw party shot another outlaw Shahidul Islam of
Borbari village under Sadar upazila dead.
On July, 9 Juba League activist Mithun Hossain of No 9 Barobazar union
under Kaliganj upazila was hacked and slaughtered to death due to
political feud.
On July, 8 an unidentified body, 42 was recovered hanging from a tree.
On July, 5 a body of a student of class eight, abducted on June 28,
was recovered from Madhupur bazaar of the district.
On June, 16, No 17 Naldanga UP chairman of Sadar upazila Ruhul Biswas
was hacked to death by some unidentified terrorists.
On June, 11, AL leader Khairul Islam under Kaliganj upazila was hacked
to death by some unidentified terrorists.
On June, 30 a contractor named Sultan Ahmed of Sadar upazila was
killed by the terrorists.
On June, 30 another man named Abdul Kader of Purapara village under
Moheshpur upazila was beaten to death by the terrorists.
On June, 26 Ilias Hossain, 24 was killed at Jugihuda village under
Moheshpur upazila of the district.
On May, 15 another man named Hasmot Ali, 55 of Alamdanga village under
Shailkupa upazila was slaughtered to death by the terrorists.
On May, 3 a youth named Shahabul Islam, 26 of Daluakhali village under
Harinakundo upazila had been slaughtered to death by the terrorists.
Besides, two unidentified youth’s body had been recovered in Jhenidah.
Of them one in Harinakundo upazila May 13 and another one in
Shailkupa upazila on May 9.
Family members of the victims said, police could not nab any of the
culprits yet. Consequently, the terrorists are becoming brazen day by
day.
Contacted, SP Altaf Hossain of Jhenidah said, law and order has not
deteriorated in Jhenidah. Outlaws are returning to their abodes at the
end of the government’s tenure and are trying to establish their
supremacy in the area. We are not able to resist these killings
overnight as our manpower is limited. But we are trying our best to
