A mobile court of Department of Environment in a drive has imposed of Taka 1.60 lakh fine on three owners of brick kiln for lacking of legal documents for running the units, erecting illegal chimney and burning of wood logs on Thursday.The court, led by executive magistrate Mohammad Selim Reza, has imposed Taka 50,000 fine on Hafiz Sheikh of Sheikh Bricks,Taka 30,000 on Shahidul Islam of Share Bricks and Taka 80,000 on Shafiul Islam of SHB Bricks, assistant director of the department ,Sayeed Anwar said.During the drive, the court also dismantled the illegal chimneys of the factories.It also served notice on Omar Mollah, the owner of Shohagh Bricks, for his absence during the drive.The mobile court also conducted a similar drive in the Kashiani upazila of the district yesterday, Environment Department sources said. -BSS, Gopalganj
