Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 57 packs of hemp from Nijnanduali village in the district town on Tuesday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Muktar Sheikh, son of Aziz Sheikh of the village.MA Hashem, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Muktar had been openly selling different types of narcotic substances, including hemp, in the area for long.On secret information, a team of DB police conducted a drive at the village at about 3:00 pm and found Muktar peddling hemp.Later, they arrested him along with 57 packs of the cannabis item.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB
