People regain faith in police: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically said the people have regained their confidence in the police.

The premier came up with this statement while addressing a programme arranged on the occasion of ‘Police Week-2013’ at Razarbag police line on Tuesday.

Mentioning various facilities provided to police, Sheikh Hasina said, “The government has created 32,000 new posts for the police including 733 cadre posts. Recruitment process in this regard has also been finished while a plan of 3-year training programme has been finalized.”

Lauding professionalism of Police, the premier added, “They are discharging duties with full neutrality and dutifulness to maintain law and order, contain terrorism and protect public life and property.”

“The country is now free from militancy and Bangla Bhai-like terrorists allowing the people to live in peace, and it was possible due to sincere services of the police force,” she said.

The programme was attended, among others, by Home Minister MK Alamgir, State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku, Inspector General of Police Hasan Mahmud Khandkar and Additional IGP (admin) Shahidul Hoq.banglanews24.com
