Petrol bombs hurled on 2 N’ganj police camps

Activists of Jamaat’s student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir hurled petrol bombs at two police camps at Chasara in the city Saturday afternoon.   Witnesses said  25-30 Shibir activists equipped with sticks brought out a protest procession near Government Tolaram College around 3 pm. They hurled two petrol bombs targeting Chasara and Hajiganj police camps while marching towards Chasara area. Fire erupted in the police camps following the blasts that gutted furniture and doors of the camps.   Police fired several rounds of bullet to disperse the Shibir men and arrested four people from the spot.   Special Branch Inspector of district police Mainur Rahman confirmed the incident.   Traffic on Dhaka-Pagla-Narayanganj road remained halted for half-an-hour following the incident. – UNB
