Dhaka, Aug 25 – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Chitta Ranjan Dutta, Bir Uttam, popularly known as CR Dutta — one of the sector commanders during the great Liberation War.In a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina said the country and the nation will remember his unique contribution to the great Liberation War with gratitude.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
The veteran freedom fighter, who was also the president of Bangladesh Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad, breathed his last at 9:30am at a hospital in Florida in the USA at the age of 93.
He left behind two daughters, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers. – UNB
