Scary atmosphere grips country, says BNP

Dhaka, Aug 25 – BNP on Monday said that an unknown panic and scary atmosphere is now disrupting the normal life as the misrule of the present government seems to have taken a serious turn.In a statement, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government has put the security of public life and property at an extreme risk by continuing its ‘indescribable misrule’.
“Miscreants have indulged in unbridled killings and violence all over the country as they are being pampered by the government,” he said.
The statement was issued denouncing the killing of Patuakhali’s Bauphal upazila unit Chhatra Dal leader Khandaker Rashedul Hasan Shaon by criminals.
A group of miscreants swopped on Shaon around 10am today (Monday) with sharp weapons and stabbed him to death.
Fakhrul strongly condemned and protested the murder of the Chhatra Dal leader.
He said the attack on Shaon and his heinous killing in broad daylight has exposed once again that the country has turned into a ‘den of terrorists in absence of the rule of law’.
The BNP leader said the miscreants are being encouraged to dip their hands in the blood of people, including opposition leaders and activists, across the country as they are being spared with the government’s blessings even after conviction by the court.
He demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the brutal the murder of Shaon. – UNB
