PM leaves for Sydney via Thailand

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who left Dhaka for Sydney on Thursday afternoon on a three-day official visit to Australia at the invitation of her Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull, reached Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Thailand.

Minister attached to Prime Minister’s Office of Royal Thai Government Kobsak Pootrakool and Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem received Sheikh Hasina at the airport at 5pm (local time).

After making a two-hour stopover at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the Prime Minister will start for Sydney.

During her visit to Australia, the Prime Minister will receive the Global Women’s Leadership Award at the 2018 Global Summit of Women and hold a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Earlier, a Thai Airways flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Sydney, Australia at 1:50pm (BST).

The flight is scheduled to reach Sydney International Airport at 7:20am on Friday (local time).
