‘PM’s speech constructive,’ negotiations needed: Former Adviser

Former caretaker government adviser Akbar Ali Khan has described Prime Minister’s address to the nation as ‘constructive’.
He also called for negotiation among the country’s two main political parties to end the ongoing political impasse.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her address to the nation on Friday proposed an all-party interim government to conduct the upcoming parliamentary elections and hoped that opposition BNP would positively respond to her proposal.

The former Cabinet secretary urged the opposition to accept the Prime Minister’s proposal.

“This is a pre-poll speech. There are constructive elements in it. We should go forward with that.”

Akbar Ali said the opposition had never clarified its position.

“The opposition has never clarified what they really want. They should hold discussions in parliament…… There they can discuss where and how to find an agreement,” he said. – bdnews24.com
