Point of View: Sheikh Hasina and thought on Development!

The newspaper headline “Hasina seeks vote to finish development tasks” has drawn my attention. Can I ask a simple question to her? What the incumbent government has done so far development in Bangladesh? On September 16, I had to spend two and a half hour for movement from Ashkona
Haji camp to Mohakhali, Dhaka. This is not the case only on that particular day. Except Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet member, we all have to spend a huge amount of our valuable time on the way to our workplace in all the areas of Dhaka.
Not very long ago, we used to come to Dhaka from Rajshahi in 4 hours in the morning and get to office but now it takes 6 to 7 hours and some time more than that.
Almost everyday we see the related news in all the newspapers and also in the electronic media. And there is no alternative of decentralisation but the incumbent government has not done anything of decentralisation.
For quality education, recruitment quality teacher and maintaining standard class size are key issues. But the incumbents are indifferent to establishing PSC for teacher recruitment and not issuing a circular mentioning that class size should not exceed forty and nor be of less than 20 students. Students and teachers of schools not meeting the requirement will be merged with adjacent schools.
One of my friends, a first class government official, who has only one child cannot survive with the amount of 18000 (Eighteen thousand only) as his son has been studying in an ordinary government secondary school. But his son has to go to private tutor. After class his son along with all the students has to attend the coaching centres.
His son said, now the class hour has been extended but teachers have not changed. Moreover, on more than two days a month teachers only collect the tuition fees from the students. Why classes are not held on those days? Not only that there are some other reasons for which classes are not held.
Sagor-Runi and Biswajit murder case verdicts are yet to be pronounced. The costs of all essential goods are exorbitant. Concerned authorities are requested to work do for the masses of the people only.
