The Rangpur range of police today awarded 10 of its personnel with medals acknowledging their professional excellence and courage in delivering their services.Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for police’s Rangpur Range Humayun Kabir distributed the awards among the police personnel of different districts in the northwestern region.“He distributed medals among the police members for their laudable performances in maintaining law and order, taming violence and fighting terrorism, militancy and extortion and handling crimes like mugging, robbery and murder and drug trafficking,” a police spokesman said. Superintendent of Police of Lalmonirhat TM Mujahidul Islam was adjudged the best district police chief under Rangpur range and awarded with the medal for maintaining law and order and preventing other crimes.The others who received the award were Constable Elias Noore of Rangpur Police Control Room, ASI Shahanur Alam of Lalmonirhat Sadar Thana, Sergeant Lutful Anam Sagar of Rangpur Sadar Traffic Police, Panchagarh Court Officer Harunur Rashid, SI Babul Islam of Panchagarh Sadar Thana and SI Abu Bakar Siddik of Birampur Thana in Dinajpur, ASI Abu Taher of Panchagarh Police, Community Policing Officer of Thakurgaon Sadar Thana SI Jahangir Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Birampur Thana in Dinajpur Amiruzzaman, ASP for Dinajpur Sadar Circle Shushanto Sarker.Superintendents of Police (SP) from Rangpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts under Rangpur Range attended the ceremony. -BSS, Rangpur
