Police firing hurts city Bnp leader, Feni bomb blast 2 magistrates

Gias Uddin (45) a Ward Bnp leader of the of Shyampur Taltala area under Kadamtali police station in Dhaka city was seriously injured when police opened fire from shotgun as reportedly pro-blockade activists were preparing to do picketing at about 8 pm last night.
Police said the opposition activists hurled brickbats at them when they chased the activists. At one stage police opened fire. Giasuddin received injuries in his knees. He was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.The OC of Kadamtali said two policemen were injured in the incident. Two alleged picketers have been detained.
In Feni two magistrates were injured when a cocktail hurled by pro-blockade activists blasted at Shahidullah Kaiser Road in Feni at about 9 pm on Friday. The injured magistrates are: Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Abdul Kader Bhuiyan and executive magistrate Rashed Hasan. They were conducting mobile court, sources said.
The injured magistrates have been admitted to the Feni Diabetes Hospital. The SP of Feni has confirmed the news.
In Dhaka a crude bomb hurled inside the Banani residence of Law Maninister Anisul Huq exploded late Friday evening. None was hurt. The minister was not at home at home at the time. The windshield of a car parked inside the house broke into pieces due to the blast, an inmate told reporters.
Earlier on Thursday a crude bomb was hurled in front of the residence of a High Court Bench Judge, Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman in Dhanmandi residential area of Dhaka city. The village home of another judge Justice Kazi Rezahul Huq was set afire. An HC bench comprising the two judges had issued order the other day banning the publication of statements of Tarique Rahman in the news media. – Staff Reporter
