Politicians then and now …

“Montreer pola” is a phrase I heard being used to rebuke somebody when I was in a vegetable market. It is now very known to most of us. Once devoted, learned, patriotic and honorable persons from the society did politics for the interest of common people and they become ministers.
Of late foreign diplomats from various countries have expressed their deep concern at the recent political unrest when leaders of the Awami League met them. Mohammad Nasim, the health minister has said they don’t bother about their concern.
Fact remains that a large number of people have died, many others injured in the political violence so far.
Police, Rab and some other government forces have killed opposition leaders in the name of crossfire. Students of SSC could not participate in their exam on schedule. Considering risks that any time they may fall into bomb attack or caught by the government forces which target particularly bearded people, almost all people have to move risking life.
I ask ministers, please move from one place to another as an ordinary citizens like us and dropping police escort. People neither like the petrol bomb attacks nor the crossfire deaths of leaders of the opposition. Please consider the concern of the general people to live in peace and harmony.
In olden days minister worked for the well-being of general people but now they try to retain and linger power ignoring general people’s interests. Now people are seeking help from Allah Almighty to survive.
