Dhaka – Saif Sporting Club outplayed formidable Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 3-0 goals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.
Saif SC played to a goalless draw with Chattogram Abahani Ltd in the last match in Mymensingh on Saturday.
With the feat, Saif SC shared the 3rd slot in the league table with Sheikh Russel KC securing 17 points from eight matches while Sheikh Jamal remained at their previous credit of 12 points, playing eight matches.
Independence Cup champions and star-studded Bashundhara Kings dominated the 13-team league securing 19 points from seven matches while Dhaka Abahani Limited followed the leaders neck and neck with 18 points from eight matches.
In the day’s match, Iqbal, Cordoba and Bolshakov scored one goal each for Saif SC, which dominated the first half by a solitary goal.
The day’s 2nd match between two traditional rivals-Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan SC-was washed out at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here due to continuous rainfall.
