Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday urged all leaders and activists to get mentally ready as coronavirus situation may worsen in coming days.
“We’ve to face this challenge with courage,” he said while addressing a virtual press conference on contemporary affairs from his official residence.
He said AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always remains beside the people and she is being applauded around the world for her work in tackling the coronavirus.
Quader, also Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, said the ruling party has so far provided food assistance and cash Tk 8.62 crore to over nine million families across the country amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He also recalled the homecoming day of the AL President Sheikh Hasina. AL President Hasina returned home on this day in 2009 from USA.
