Pro-AL journos demand resignation of JPC committee

Pro-AL journalist leaders on Tuesday demanded resignation of those from Jatiya Press Club managing committee who were involved in making the club a centre of political party activities and providing scopes to outsiders to stay at night.
They made the demand at a press conference organised by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) at JPC this afternoon.Prime Minister’s media adviser and former BFUJ president Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, BFUJ president Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and secretary general Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, JPC former general secretary Shafiqur Rahman, JPC joint general secretary Farida Yesmin, among others, spoke at the press conference.
The journalist leaders said there was agreement that JPC would not be used in any political party activities. But BNP-Jamaat backed professionals organized a rally at JPC violating the agreement and created scopes for the political leaders to stay in night inside the club, the journalists added.
