Rajshahi, Nov 26 – Professor Dr Asadul Islam of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department of Rajshahi University has been appointed as the new warden of Shaheed Mir Abdul Kayum International Dormitory of the university. He took the charge from outgoing warden Prof Dr Md. Golam Faruk on Monday.
Prof Asadul completed his graduation and post-graduation from Botany Department of RU in 1988 and 1992 respectively. He joined the Genetic Engineering Department of the university as a lecturer in 2001.
Prof Asadul achieved PhD degree in 2009. Around 50 of his research papers were published in different national and international journals. Currently, he is serving as joint secretary of Genetical Society of Bangladesh.
