Professions of teachers and politicians

In olden days the positions of teacher and politician used to be occupied by devoted, honest, learned persons form the society. In most of cases teachers also led the society.
Actually, these are the key positions in our society to move the country forward quickly. But, if we see the scenario in our secondary education, almost all the schools are non-government secondary schools where mostly less qualified teachers are recruited through underhand deals including the payment of bribe money to the ruling party members. This is the case also in respect of teachers at the college level.Actually, those who are not getting job in other sectors get back to teaching and this is an open secret.
Quality of the teachers of non-government primary schools is even worse compared to those of secondary schools and now they are going to be absorbed in the government teachers pool.
Most of these teachers are also leaders of the society. We should have an institution from where we can produce good and motivated leaders in our society.
Meritorious and devoted people should be recruited for the teaching profession through the Public Service Commission and provided better salary so that they can survive with the income.
