Programming will be the language of future: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Monday said that programming will be the language of the future as it is a tool of communication between human beings and machines and even machine to machines.

He urged the authorities to teach children programming along with mathematics and science.Palak came up with the remarks as chief guest while inaugurating National High School Programming Competition organised by the ICT division through an online platform.

“Fourth industrial revolution is based on talent… new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, block chain, big data are changing the world rapidly,” he said, adding that “There is no alternative to learning programming for this.”

He requested all to use the online platform of Bangladesh Computer Council to learn programming in Bangla language.Explaining the contribution of programmers, the state minister said that “They will lead the future world.”Shortly, 5,500 Sheikh Rassel digital computer laboratories will be installed at school level in this regard.

“We managed to make computer learning compulsory from sixth to 12th grade with the guidance of ICT advisor,” he said referring to Sakib Wazed Joy, adding that already 8000 Sheikh Russel digital computer laboratories were made to introduce children and young learners with programming.

Meanwhile, the online competition – ‘Januk sobai dekhaw tumi’ was launched to inspire children to learn programming.Students have to register through http://online.nhspc.org which will continue until June 24.
