Promoting science education

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged all to increase the practice of science among the new generation of citizens. She addressed a gold medal award ceremony of Bangladesh Bignan Academy at the Osmani Smriti Milanayatan on last Sunday.
From history we know that science can help a lot to lift a country by ensuring its tremendous development. Not very long ago, around 40 percent students did study science. But now not more than 20 percent students are studying science at the secondary level. We know that around 98 percent educational institutions are non-government at this level. It is known that teachers are recruited by taking bribe given to people controlling the school managing committees. So, qualified teachers are not recruited.
So, we urge the government to recruit brilliant and dedicated persons as teachers by establishing a Public Service Commission for recruitment and their promotion of teachers of private schools. This would help proper study of science that the Prime Minister wants to promote.
