In a wholesale promotion in the administration, some 345 deputy secretaries have been elevated to the rank of joint secretary.The Ministry of Public Administration issued an order on Thursday in this regard.
The promoted bureaucrats have been attached with the Public Administration Ministry as officers on special duty (OSD) as the number of joint secretaries has already exceeded the approved 250 posts.
Public Administration Secretary Abdus Sobhan Shikdar told UNB that new posts will be created for the newly promoted joint secretaries. “Then they will join their new posts.”
Replying to a query, he said the deputy secretaries have been given promotion considering their merits and skills. – UNB
