Protest in Barguna against Shakib’s ban

A human chain was formed protesting against ICC’s move to ban Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for two years.A number of college students and leaders and activists of various social and cultural organisations took part in the human chain in front of Barguna press club in the morning.
Speakers at the programme said the all-rounder did not commit any crime and that it was unfair to give such a big punishment for a little mistake. They alleged that a group is trying to destroy the cricket of Bangladesh.
ICC banned Shakib from all forms of cricket for two years, with keeping it suspended for one year, as he failed to report a corrupt approach.
The protesters in Barguna demanded Bangladesh Cricket Board to come forward and apply to the International Cricket Council to reduce Shakib’s punishment, reports UNB, Barguna.
