Protest rally denounces violence in Rangpur

Speakers at a mass rally here have deplored killing of innocent people by hurling petrol bombs, anarchy, violence, destroying the academic life of the SSC examinees and national economy in the name of blockade and hartal.The district unit of Sramik-Karmochari-Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Samonnoy Parishad (SKPMSP) organised the mass public rally on Tuesday after bringing out a huge protest procession in the main city streets from the district Muktijoddha Command Office premises.Hundreds of common people, freedom fighters, workers, employees, professionals, sociocultural and political activists, teachers, civil society members took part in the procession protesting blockade, hartal and violence of the BNP-Jamaat-led 20-party alliance.Later, District Muktijoddha Commander Mosaddek Hossain Bablu presided over a discussion at Katchari Bazaar zero point in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office at the end of the protest procession.Vice-president of district Awami League Delwar Hossain Talukder, President of district Sramik League Abdus Salam, workers’ leaders Insan Ali and Shahidul Islam Hira, Convener of district Swechchasebak League Moazzem Hossain Lablu, Krishak League leader Jahangir Alam, professional Masum Mian and valiant freedom fighter Mostafa Ahmed, addressed, among others.The speakers strongly condemned the killings of innocent people through hurling petrol bombs, anarchy, destruction, terrorism and violence by the BNP-Jamaat alliance and razakars, al-badars and al-shams in the name of so called political movements.
Narrating devil designs of the anti-liberation forces to destabilise the country, they asked the pro-liberation forces for forging a rock-solid unity against violence, subversive activities and burning of innocent people for ensuring peace in the society.They also cautioned for resisting all sorts of violence and resisting the killers and enemies of the innocent people through ensuring congenial atmosphere in the country for smooth conduct of the daily activities by the working people to earn livelihoods.BSS, Rangpur
