Protests at RU against removal of KU teachers and students

Rajshahi, Jan 28 – Teachers and students of Rajshahi University under different banners on Thursday protested against Khulna University authority’s expulsion of three teachers, two students. They formed human chains and brought out a silent procession carrying placard and wrapping black bands on their mouths at different places of the university campus.
Mass Communication and Journalism department assistant professor Kazi Mamun Haider said at the human chain, we stood four days ago against the possibility of the Khulna University authority’s expulsion the teachers. The possibility has come true. The KU administration decided to expel the teachers. We condemn the decision of the university administration.
The decision of KU administration is the question of our existence and liberty at a university. The public universities are run with the money coming from the people. Then why their students and teacher would not enjoy the right to make a logical demand! We are not here only for today. We will be here until The KU administration withdraws its expulsion of the teachers and the students, he added.
The teachers of Rajshahi University formed the human chain under the banner of ‘University Teachers’ Network’ in front of the ‘Shaheed Buddhijibi Smriti Falak’ of the university and the students formed the human chain at Paris Road of the university under the banner of ‘Rajshahi University Students’. – RU Correspondent
