Rab cordon off 2 ‘militant dens’ in C’nawabganj

Chapainawabganj – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have kept two houses at Chakpustam and Balugram Shimultala villages in Gomostapur upazila cordoned off since early Wednesday suspecting the presence of militants there. UNB news agency reported
The elite force personnel cordoned off the houses based on information from three detained suspected militants, said Lt Col Mahbub Alam, commanding officer of Rab-5 of Chapainawabganj.
Rab men arrested the trio along with three kilograms of gunpowder, one pistol, one magazine and four bullets from Bazarpara village in the upazila, Mahbub added.
Later, the law enforcers cordoned off three houses — one at Chanpara village while two others at Chakpustam and Balugram Shimultala villages.
“We arrested a man, Abdul Mazid, from Chanpara village but found nothing searching his house,” said the CO.
Mahbub added that Rab members later conducted another drive at Alichhahos village in Nachol upazila around 9 am but they did not find anything there
