Savar, Jul 16 – The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Sunday cordoned off a house in Chakalgram Chourapara area of Pathalia union in Ashulia, suspecting it as a militant hideout.Sources at Rab-4 said that they cordoned off the one-storey house since 1:00 am while the militants fired gunshots several times upon them.
For security, other residents of the building were being shifted to safety.
Checkposts have been set up at important points on the surrounding roads.
The Rab force arrested the owner of the house, Ibrahim, said Mufti Mahmud, director of Rab legal and media wing.
A number of Rab members were deployed in the area to avert any untoward incident. – UNB
