Raid on suspected JMB militant at Mirpur

Police and RAB personnel have started a raid on a house at Dhaka’s Mirpur, on information that it was used as a hideout by militants of the Jamaat’ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).Dhaka Metropolitan Police spokesperson Jahangir Alam told bdnews24.com that the raid is targeting the possible JMB hideoput in a house on the “A” block of Road Nine under Shah Ali Police station in Mirpur.Television reports say bombs have been lobbed from inside the house at the raiding police and RAB personnel. But police has not yet confirmed the claim.Jamuna TV, in its live coverage say that inmates of that house have been held hostage as a shield by the JMB militants. Again, police has not yet confirmed that.
