Rajuk chairman denies graft in plot distribution

Dhaka – Rajuk chairman Nurul Huda on Thursday denied allegations of corruption in allotment of Rajuk-managed land.
His denial came during nearly three hours of questioning by Anti Corruption Commission deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy at ACC office, sources at the anti-graft watchdog said.The sources spoke on condition of anonymity as they cannot be identified under briefing rules.
Emerging from the questioning Huda said he was not involved in any graft. “I have come to the ACC as it asked from me some information about a VIP, I’m not involved in any graft.”
ACC commissioner M Shahabuddin told reporters there is allegations against the Rajuk chairman.
Earlier this month, the ACC launched a probe into former secretary of Housing and Public Works Ministry Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain who allegedly abused his power in taking Rajuk land plots for him, his wife and mother.
Shokwat Hossain is now Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment secretary. – UNB
