The Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has become successful in
developing lot of the farmers by assisting them in enhancing
agricultural output, speakers said here on Thursday.
They were addressing a views-exchange meeting organised by Rangpur
Zonal Office of RAKUB with senior government officials on the occasion
of the visit of its Managing Director Mofazzal Hossain to Rangpur.
Rajshahi Divisional General Manager of the bank Abdul Khaleque Khan
conducted the meeting held at the dining hall of RDRS Bangladesh in
the city.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Police Iqbal Bahar,
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Narayan Chandra Barma,
Deputy Managing Director of RAKUB Abu Hanif Khan, its Rangpur
Divisional General Manager Habibur Rahman, Rangpur Zonal manager
Mohidul Haque, Divisional Audit Officer Abdur Rouf Mian, addressed the
meeting. Senior RAKUB officials, General Secretary of Rangpur city
unit of Bangladesh Awami League Tushar Kanti Mandal and Officer-
in-Charge of Kotwali Thana Syed Shahabuddin Khalifa were present.
DIG Iqbal Bahar said the goal for separating RAKUB from Bangladesh
Krishi Bank (BKB) has become successful as RAKUB has become the lone
government banking organisation in developing agriculture and farmers’
condition in the northern region.
“The agriculture and pisciculture sectors have achieved tremendous
success following the supports and assistances of RAKUB to change
overall agro-economy of the whole northern region and bringing fortune
to the farmers and commoners,” he said.
Highly lauding success of RAKUB in developing agriculture and economy
of the northern region, Additional Divisional Commissioner Narayan
Chandra Barma called upon the authorities for bringing further
dynamism in RAKUB activities in reaching services to the peoples’
doorsteps.
RAKUB Managing Director Mofazzal Hossain said the present government
has put maximum emphasis on increasing agricultural production through
providing assistances to the farmers to change their fates, ensure
food security and achieve overall economic development of the people.
RAKUB has been working with sincerity maintaining transparency and
accountability to achieve the set goals through providing necessary
assistances to the farmers and others in
enhancing agriculture and rural economy in the northern region, he added.
