The Local Government Ministry on Tuesday suspended two union Parishad members for irregularities in cash aid disbursement and relief distribution among destitute people amid coronavirus outbreak.The Local Government Division issued separate notifications in this regard.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, a total of 89 public representatives have been suspended.
Among them, there are 29 UP chairmen, 54 UP members, one zila parishad members, four municipal councillors and an upazila vice-chairman.
The suspended UP members are- Jamal Hossain, of ward no 3 of Taindong Union Parishad of Matiranga upazila in Khagrachhari district and Purnima Rani Banik, of 1,2,3 no wards ( reserved) in Laurfatehpur union parishad in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district, reports UNB.
